KPK government to form Joint Working Group with Tec. Zone Authority

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (KPK) government will form a Joint Working Group (JWG) with the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA) to implement comprehensive strategy plan.
The decision was taken during meeting between Chief Minister of KPK province, Mahmood Khan with Amer Hashmi, the Chairman of the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA).
Minister for S&T, IT, and Food, Atif Khan was also present in the meeting which took place as a follow-up to recently held Digital Youth Summit.
A comprehensive strategy for the development of four STZs in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, and Haripur was discussed during the meeting.
These STZs are envisioned to create opportunities for the technology industry, to create jobs for the youth, human capital development, and to create and support the technology and knowledge ecosystems in the province.
To implement this strategic plan, the Government of KPK will form a Joint Working Group with the Special Technology Zones Authority.
Under the JWG, regular meetings will be conducted, for ongoing cooperation on the development of the STZs in KPK and to explore other areas of cooperation.
The Chief Minister of KPK appreciated the initiative and pledged his government’s support for the development of the technology industry in the province through the STZs.
Amer Hashmi appreciated the provincial government for setting up technology clusters and STZs in the province, which he said will boost socio-economic development in the province.
