ISLAMABAD: Life in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi has returned to normal following the conclusion of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) public meeting on Sunday.
The cities, which experienced temporary disruption due to the political gathering, have resumed regular activities as business life picks up once again.
All educational institutions, as well as government and private offices, have reopened, signaling a return to routine for residents and workers in the twin cities.
To ensure security during the PTI rally held yesterday, the administration had placed containers on various major highways. However, with the event now concluded, these containers have been removed, allowing traffic to flow smoothly once more.
On Sunday, PTI workers and Islamabad police clashed after the party allegedly violated the No Objection Certificate (NoC) issued for holding its public meeting in Sangjani.
According to reports, PTI workers had pelted the police with stones. The deputy commissioner made it clear that if the stone-pelting continued, there would be many arrests.
“Now that the public gathering has become illegal, cases will be registered if the instructions to end the rally are not followed,” the DC added.
The district magistrate had issued a notice to PTI Islamabad chapter Amir Mughal, highlighting violations of the code of conduct regarding the power show. PTI was strictly directed to ensure compliance with the SOPs outlined in the NoC.
PTI was permitted to hold its rally from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The DC had emphasized that legal action would be taken against PTI if the instructions were not adhered to.
