ISLAMABAD: The National Highway and Motorway Police foiled an attempt to smuggle eight kilogram heroin worth millions of rupees and arrested an accused.
According to details, the Motorway Police stopped a vehicle bearing registration number V-5714 travelling from Peshawar to Lahore near Balkasar for violating traffic rules but the driving instead of stopping fled driving in extremely dangerous manner.
The matter was reported to Sector Commander who developed an integrated strategy and vehicle was forcefully stopped near Kalar Kahar.
During search of vehicle, eight kilogram high quality worth millions of rupees in international marked was recovered and accused Zahoor Ahmed Zafar hailing from Mardan was arrested.
DIG Motorway Ashfaq Ahmed praised the entire team and expressed his determination that the Motorway Police would continue to serve the people and take action against criminal elements.
