Motorway Police recovers stolen car, hands over to owner

ISLAMABAD: Motorway Police on Thursday recovered a stolen car and handed it over to its owner.

According to details, the officers of the National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP), sub-inspector Saleem Khan and sub-inspector Imran Rahim were at routine patrolling while a car was found across the road. The open bonnet and down mirrors knocked it as ambiguous. The NHMP officers in collaboration of local community thoroughly searched the vehicle and found that battery was missing, sound system also not there.

Furthermore, chassis number was tempered completely and engine number also removed. Registration Number plates were also found missing. A paper of ownership was found in the car. From which it was came to know that the owner’s name is Irfanullah bearing contact number was also written on paper.

A call was made to him upon which he informed that his vehicle had been stolen from the last night. He has been called to approach here with a copy of FIR at Rawat. District Police was also called for further proceedings. The car was handed over to its owner in front of local police and eye witnesses. The owner of the car and general road users appreciated the efforts of NHMP officers.

The DIG N-5 North Zone Mohammad Alam Shinwari appreciated the honesty and efforts of the officers and expected the same standards by all the officers of N-5 North Zone during discharge of their official obligations.
