LAHORE: The perpetrators of Wednesday night’s heinous crime are still at large, forcing the authorities to expand the scope of the investigation.
According to sources, after the DNA tests of 15 arrested suspects did not match the criminal, it was decided that DNA tests of all residents of nearby Karol Ghati will be conducted.
According to reports, a field hospital will be set up near Karol Valley for DNA sampling of all residents.
It was earlier reported that the concerned authorities have shortlisted over 70 people with criminal records and their location at the time of the incident is also being monitored. Detectives have also been hired for the inspection of footprints collected from the crime scene.
In a statement, Inspector General of Punjab (IG) Inam Ghani told that traditional and advance techniques are being used to investigate the case. Suspicious points have been mark around 5 kilometers from the incident site, he went on to say.
