ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf has summoned members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to confirm their resignations.
It may be recalled that members of PTI of National Assembly had announced their resignation on the floor of the National Assembly after the success of the no-confidence motion against former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi during his speech before the election of PM said, “We resign from this House and demand that new elections be held.”
According to the National Assembly spokesperson, the Speaker has summoned the members of PTI for which letters have been issued to the members.
According to the spokesperson, the Speaker has summoned the PTI members on June 6 for verification and the number of PTI members who have resigned is 131.
The process of confirmation of resignations will continue till Friday, June 10, and 30 resigned members will meet the National Assembly Speaker daily.
