NAB active to end corruption, recovered Rs326b so far: Director NAB

LAHORE: Director National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Syed Muhammad Hasnain has said that corruption has damaged the national objectives and progress and prosperity in the country is not possible till elimination of corruption.

Addressing the Academic Council of Post Graduate Medical Institute and the awareness seminar on the topic of “Corruption Free Pakistan” held at the auditorium of Punjab Institute of Neuro Sciences of Lahore General Hospital (LGH) on Thursday, Syed Muhammad Hasnain said that NAB has so far recovered RS 326 billion which have been added to the national exchequer as well.

He pledged his resolve that NAB is actively working to curb the corruption in the society and every citizen should also play role in this regard.

For the first time in history influential personalities are being nabbed and brought before the laws which would certainly help to the national economy, the Director NAB added.

He further stated that doctors relate with such profession in which corruption is minimized.

Muhammad Hasnain said that most of the complaints are related to the housing societies and out of 62 so far matters of 40 housing societies have been resolved and complainants have been provided remedy as well.

He said that Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah has started struggle against corruption around 70 years back and the same movement has been launched by NAB now.

The Director NAB assured that no matter what position anybody has if corruption is committed then action would be taken by NAB accordingly. He said that if anyone points out corruption his name would be kept secret. (INP/LK/SB)
