LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday wrapped up Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab President Rana Sanaullah’s bail petition after he withdrew the plea.

Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi conducted hearing on the PML-N leader’s petition who is arrested in heroin smuggling case. Rana Sanaullah’s counsel Azam Nazir Tarar maintained that facts are yet to be disclosed in the trial court; therefore, his client wants to withdraw the bail plea.

Let it be known that Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) investigation officer had been made respondent in the petition which took the stance that Rana Sanaullah is being politically victimized owing to his strong criticism against the incumbent government.

The FIR against the PML-N leader was registered with a delay in which the quantity of recovered heroin was changed from 21 to 15 kilogram making the case suspicious, the petition said.

Rana Sanaullah’s lawyer argued that his client had expressed concerns of being detained even before his arrest. (With additional input from INP)
