ISLAMABAD-The Independence Day of Pakistan is being celebrated today with national zeal, fervor as Kashmir Solidarity Day to express full support to Kashmiri brethren reeling from renewed Indian repression.
The day dawned with special prayers in the mosques after Fajar prayer for peace, progress, and prosperity of the country and liberation of the occupied territories of the Muslims.
Thirty one gun salute was offered in the Federal Capital Islamabad, while 21-gun salute in all the four provincial headquarters, Gilgit and Muzaffarabad.
Main flag hoisting ceremony will be held in Islamabad.
The government has decided to celebrate the Independence Day to express solidarity with people of occupied Kashmir and entire nation in unified voice will reiterate moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiri brethren.
The government of Pakistan on Saturday revealed a special logo for the Independence Day to express solidarity with the people of Occupied Kashmir after BJP-led Indian government stripped the valley of its special status of the valley with the revocation of Article 370.The Independence Day reflecting the theme “Kashmir Banega Pakistan”.
