Nation-wide tally of COVOD-19 crosses 1246 infections with nine deaths

ISLAMABAD: Nation-wide tally of coronavirus infections crosses 1246 and the toll of the deaths by deadly diseases reaches to nine.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 infections rose to 1246 on Friday after more people tested positive in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad Capital Territory.

The province-wise break up of total number of deaths and infections cases confirmed by the Health authorities as of 01:30 pm, March 27, is as follows:

Total deaths so far confirmed by the authorities round the cointry were 9 out of which Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 03, Punjab 03, Sindh 01, Balochistan 01, Gilgit-Baltistan 01.

Total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections nation-wide were 1246 out of which Sindh has 429, Punjab 419, Balochistan 131, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 147, Islamabad 27, Gilgit Baltistan 91 and AJK two.

Besides taking initiative to impose lockdown to control the worseing situation out of the COVID-19, Sindh government to another step to ban the congregational prayers in Karachi till April 5.

At least 24,000 deaths have been recorded globally, more than 15,500 of which are in Europe since the virus first emerged in December.

More than 532,000 declared virus cases have been registered in 199 countries and territories of which at least 268,191 are in Europe, the worst-hit continent.

The countries with the most deaths include Italy with 8,165 deaths out of 80,539 declared infections, Spain with 4,089 deaths out of 56,188 cases, mainland China with 3,287 deaths out of 81,285 cases, Iran with 2,234 deaths out of 29,406 cases, and France with 1,696 fatalities out of 29,155 cases.
