Netanyahu’s ‘Greater Israel’ Comments ‘Rhetoric Of Extremism’: OIC

OIC - The News Today - TNT

REYADH: Condemning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “Greater Israel” remarks, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) warned that Tel Aviv’s “expansionist colonial discourse” poses threat to regional and international peace.

The inter-governmental organization said in a statement that the Israeli leader’s comments were “an extension of the rhetoric of extremism, incitement, aggression, and disregard for the sovereignty of states”, adding that they violated the principles of international law.

“The organization warns of the danger of this expansionist colonial discourse, which poses a threat to regional and international security and peace, fuels the cycle of violence, and expands and prolongs the conflict in the region,” said the statement.

Netanyahu has faced condemnation from countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and Yemen, as well as the Arab League, over his comments to an Israeli news channel on Tuesday that he felt “very attached” to the vision of a so-called “Greater Israel”, and considered himself “on a historic and spiritual mission”.
