New Japanese envoy vows to boost relations with Pakistan

Newly appointed ambassador of Japan Kuninori Matsuda expressed his strong resolve making his best possible contribution, to further boost decades’ old Japan-Pakistan cooperative partnership in all areas of mutual interest.

Speaking at a reception, he hosted at his residence last night to have his initial interaction with the Pakistani officials, diplomats and members of the civil society, he hinted at rich prospects for further growth of the two countries’ bilateral ties. The reception was largely attended including Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Ahmed Chaudhry, former interior Minister Rehman Malik and some members of Parliament.

The ambassador hoped that Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mahmood Qureshi will soon visit Japan to explore the further avenues of bilateral cooperation.

Pakistan and Japan, he added have enjoyed friendly relations  and his job is to further strengthen them through various channels, particular people-to-people contacts.

Kuninori Matsuda is a career diplomat and has served at very important positions during his diplomatic career spanning over 35 years.

He has served at various positions at the Embassy of Japan in Russia, Embassy of Japan in Israel, Consulate General of Japan in Detroit and Consulate General of Japan in Hong Kong.
