SHEIKHUPURA: A newborn baby girl enwrapped in plastic bag was found alive from garbage dump here on Sunday.
The passersby after hearing the voice of crying of a baby from garbage dump outside Government Degree College in Jandiala Sher Khan town at Hafizabad Road Sheikhupura informed the Rescue 1122.
The Rescue 1122 team reached the scene and took the newborn baby girl into protective custody and shifted her to Shehbaz Sharif Mother and Children Complex Sheikhupura.
A large number of childless couples reached the hospital after getting the information of recovery of newborn girl to adopt her. However, the administration of the hospital said that a board of the hospital will meet to decide about handing over the girl to any couple desirous to adopt her. (INP)
