LAHORE, Jan 18 (INP): After recent action by the Election Commission of Pakistan against lawmakers, 112 Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) from Punjab were facing suspension over non-disclosure of their assets before the ECP.
In Punjab Assembly, ECP has restored membership of only MPA belonging to ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Ovais Dareshak, who submitted his assets’ details.
It is noteworthy to mention here that the suspended members include 10 members of Punjab cabinet and six others were performing duties as advisors to the Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. Despite facing suspension, the provincial ministers found using all facilities including government vehicles.
As per constitution, a suspended lawmaker was neither allowed to use government vehicle nor he can chair any meeting of his department.
However, Punjab Food Minister Samiullah Chaudhry chaired a meeting on Thursday in Punjab Secretariat despite facing the suspension.
