Abdullah and his council of ministers held a meeting at a resort in Baramulla to counter the perception of fear in the Valley. This followed another meeting in Pahalgam a day earlier. He met with tour operators from across India, aiming to revive tourism in Kashmir.
“Tourism should gradually get a revival — that’s our hope and our effort,” he said. To his delight, a meeting expected to have 20 tour operators saw over 70 participants.
Reflecting on the devastating April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which left 26 people dead, Abdullah emphasized, “The terrorists want no progress. They want tourists to stay away. But God willing, we will succeed.”
