SRINAGAR: Omar Abdullah, Vice President National Conference (NC) and former Jammu and Kashmir CM has assured the Kashmiri people to revoke the notorious law Public Safety Act (PSA) if his party voted into power.
Addressiog a party event, Abdullah criticized the widespread misuse of the PSA and assured that the NC would halt arrests of youths as part of its policy reforms.
Abdullah also addressed the recent pre-poll alliance with the Congress for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, describing it as a challenging decision for the NC.
He explained that the alliance involved sacrificing several seats where the NC believed it could have secured victories on its own.
Despite the difficulties, Abdullah emphasized that this collective struggle for the “restoration of rights” in Jammu and Kashmir was crucial and beneficial for the entire region.
