Opening up Pakistan for tourism and investment, citizens of 186 countries to enjoy on arrival visa

Pakistan has opened it self to the world for tourism and investment by offering citizens of 186 countries visa on arrival.

On-arrival, online visa facility is initially applicable to the citizens of United Kingdom, Turkey, China, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates. It will later be extended to a total of 186 countries.

Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurating the facility said said his country is opening its doors to the world as a manifestation of a new confidence that the security situation has drastically changed and Pakistan is now secure.

Addressing a ceremony to roll out the government’s new visa policy in Islamabad on Thursday, he said, “To embark on the longest journey you must take the first step,” he said, adding the government implementing this new visa policy was the start of tourism industry flourishing in the country.

He said scope for the tourism industry in Pakistan is vast, adding that after the elections in India, the country would have good relations with all of its regional neighbours.

“Foreign investment would only come to Pakistan if businesses know they can make money here,” the prime minister added.

“Next year Pakistan Premier League matches will be held in Pakistan,” he said. The PM said that the new visa policies depict a new mindset. “Due to this mindset, people will come to Pakistan and see for themselves the potential of the country.”

He said that Pakistan has to promote tourism in order to achieve better investments.
