Opposition using Kashmir for its petty political gains: Minister

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information & Culture Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that Indian forces are committing the worst cruelties in occupied Kashmir but, regrettably, the opposition is using this sensitive matter for their petty political gains.

Talking to a private TV channel here on Friday, Mian Aslam said that Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto should realise facts before indulging in issuing statements on Kashmir issue. He reminded the PPP of its past and said that it is the same party that did not allow hoisting of Kashmir banners in Islamabad during its stay in power.

He said that Kashmir committee was only used for enjoying chauffeur-driven limousines and TA/DA in the past and Maulana Fazl ur Rehman should explain his performance, if there is any? The people want to know that what Maulana Fazl ur Rehman has done through the platform of Kashmir committee during the last ten years, he added.

The Provincial Minister said that on the other side, Prime Minister Imran Khan has vociferously projected the core issue of Kashmir at every level and as a result of his hard work and sustained efforts, Kashmir issue has been fully projected at different international fora. The credit goes to the PTI-led government that the UN has taken notice of it, he added.

Mian Aslam said that the Prime Minister is an upright, astute and brave leader who is firmly standing with the Kashmiris. PM Imran Khan has announced not to hold dialogue with the Indian prime minister as Pakistan is countering the Indian designs with courage. India should not miscalculate us as it would be given a befitting reply if India tried any aggression and every Pakistan will be standing firmly with the armed forces, he concluded. (INP)
