Pakistan crosses 200k infections; reports 4,072 new infections, 83 new deaths in 24 hrs

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan crossed 200,000 infections of coronavirus and the epidemic has so far claimed 4,118 lives across the country.

Country during last 24 hours reported 83 new deaths besides 4,072 new infections of COVID-19. With 83 new deaths reported in the country the death toll surged to 4,118, and with 4,072 new infections confirmed nation-wide the toll of infections jumped to 202,955.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), has confirmed 202.955 coronavirus infections in the country as well as it reported 4,118 deaths due to COVID-19.

Sindh and Punjab are two provinces which have crossed the 70,000 infections mark. Sindh jumped to 78,267 coronavirus infections. Punjab jumped to 74,202 coronavirus infections. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also crossed the 20,000 mark of infections with 25,380 infections reported in the province while Islamabad Capital Territory also crossed 10,000 infections mark with 12,395 infections reported so far.

Pakistan crossed one million mark of COVID-19 tests as so far 1,239,153 coronavirus tests were conducted nation-wide out of which 25,013 during last 24 hours. 92,624 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition. Coronavirus epidemic patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.

According to latest figure displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of NCOC on June 28, Sunday 10:30am, the province-wise break up after confirming the toll of 202,955 infections show that Sindh is at the top of unfortunate table of COVID-19 infections with 78,267 coronavirus cases followed by Punjab with.74,202 infections of the COVID-19 pandemic. The infections confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have crossed 25,380 confirmed infections, in Balochistan toll surged to 10,261, Gilgit-Baltistan reached to the toll of 1,027 infections, Islamabad Capital Territory reached to 12,395 and 1027 infection reported in Azad Jammu Kashmir.

The figure given by Coronavirus Dashboard in its province-wise break up regarding the total 4,118 deaths reported in the country. Punjab is at top of the list of confirmed deaths with 1,673 while Sindh with 1,243 deaths at number two. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa death toll surged to 914, Balochistan 114, Gilgit-Baltistan 24, Islamabad Capital Territory 122 and AJK 28.
