Pakistan reports 2,521 new COVID-19 cases; lowest in more than a month

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has confirmed 2,521 new COVID-19 infections during last 24 hours as the lowest number in over a month. 74 new deaths by novel coronavirus were also reported in a day.

With 74 more COVID-19 fatalities reported in the country the death toll surged to 5,197, and with 2,521 new infections confirmed nation-wide the toll of infections jumped to 248,872.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), has confirmed 248,872 coronavirus infections in the country as well as it reported 5,197 deaths due to COVID-19.

According to latest figure displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of NCOC on July 12, Sunday 12:30pm, the province-wise break up after confirming the toll of 248,872 infections show that Sindh has become the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of confirmed infections, the toll surged to 103,836 infectons followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Sindh as worst hit province crossed the 100,000 mark of infections and is at top of the unfortunate table of COVID-19 infections with toll of 103,836 infections across the province and Punjab is still at second position with 86,556 confirmed infections. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also crossed reached to 30,078 infections of COVID-19 across the province. Islamabad Capital Territory reached to 14,023 infections, while Balochistan jumped to 11,157 infections. Gilgit Baltistan rezched to 1,658 and Azad Jammu Kashmir 1,564 infections.

Pakistan has conducted 1,562,638 coronavirus tests nation-wide out of which 24,211 during last 24 hours. 156,700 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition. Coronavirus epidemic patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.

According to latest figure displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of NCOC on July 12, Sunday 12:30pm, the province-wise break up after confirming the toll up regarding the total 5,197 deaths reported in the country. Punjab is at top of the list of confirmed deaths with 2,006 while Sindh with 1,747 deaths at number two. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa death toll surged to 1087, Balochistan 126, Gilgit-Baltistan 36, Islamabad Capital Territory 152 and AJK 43.
