Pakistan reports 40 new deaths, 1,245 cases of coronavirus in last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: During the COVID-19 Second Wave Pakistan has reported 40 new deaths and 1,245 people were tested positive of coronavirus duing last 24 hours.

During last 24 hours 40 more people have lost their lives to COVID-19 and 1,245 more people were tested positive to the virus round the Pakistan on Friday.

Nationwide infections toll reported on Friday was 1,245 to coronavirus epidemic besides 40 more deaths were confirmed. With 1,245 new infections reported in the country that took the toll to 568,506 cases and with 40 new deaths the toll of fatalities jumped to 12,527.

According to the latest figures displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the NCOC confirmed the death of 40 more people during last 24 hours besides reported that 1,245 persons tested positive for COVID-19.

Sindh with 255,039 overall COVID-19 cases remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab has overtaken Sindh in most number of casualties.

So far across the country 255,039 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 166,242 in Punjab, 70,493 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,967 in Balochistan, 43,145 in Islamabad, 9,673 in Azad Kashmir and 4,947 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Nationwide tally of fatalities remains 12,527 out of that 5,166 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,267 in Sindh, 2,020 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 199 in Balochistan, 488 in Islamabad, 285 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in Gilgit Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 8,602,515 coronavirus tests and 34,754 in the last 24 hours. 531,840 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas 1,626 patients are in critical condition.
