Pakistan reports 493 coronavirus cases, 4 deaths in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus across Pakistan is on downwards as four new deaths were reported in the country with 493 new infections of the virus during last 24 hours.

According to the latest figures of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard 493 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours besides four more people have lost their lives.

The NCOC reported that with 493 people were contracted by the virus the number of positive cases has surged to 1,520,120 across Pakistan. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 30,317 after four more people died due to killer disease on Wednesday morning.

Giving the details of the coronavirus tests across the country the NCOC stated that Pakistan 34,698 COVID-19 tests in the last 24 hours out of which 493 people were tested positive of the virus. The COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 1.42 per cent.

NCOC in its latest province-wise coronavirus update stated that Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

NCOC reported that the number of overall fatalities across Pakistan were surged to 30,317 out of which 13,540 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 8,091 in Sindh, 6,306 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1,021 in Islamabad, 790 in Azad Kashmir, 378 in Balochistan and 191 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The overall figures of positive cases across the country has jumped to 1,520,120 out of which 572,555 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 504,045 in Punjab, 218,357 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 134,878 in Islamabad, 43,190 in Azad Kashmir, 35,447 in Balochistan and 11,648 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

NCOC also stated that Pakistan has so far conducted 26,998,115 coronavirus tests and 34,698 in the last 24 hours. 1,472,291 patients have recovered in the country whereas 567 patients are in critical condition.

So far, 128,074,138 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 131,491 in last 24 hours. 101,881,176 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 501,747 received their second dose in last 24 hours.

The number of total administered doses has reached to 219,368,557 with 678,788 in the last 24 hours.
