Pakistan reports 95 deaths from COVID-19, highest since late May

ISLAMABAD: Coronavirus pandemic claimed 95 lives across Pakistan during last 24 hours besides 4,720 more people have tested positive for COVID-19.

With 4,720 new cases reported across Pakistan the overall number of positive cases has surged to 1,063,125. With 95 more deaths reported in Pakistan the tally of fatalities has jumped to 23,797 on Saturday.

According to the latest figures appeared in National Coronavirus Dashboard of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 95 new deaths were reported along with 4,720 new positive cases were reported across the country in the past 24 hours.

Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Nationwide death toll surged to 23,797, out of which 11,172 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 6,168 in Sindh, 4,524 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 811 in Islamabad, 641 in Azad Kashmir, 331 in Balochistan, and 150 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The toll of positive cases in Pakistan has crossed 1,063,125, out of which 396,918 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 362,557 in Punjab, 147,452 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 90,093 in Islamabad, 31,069 in Balochistan, 26,421 in Azad Kashmir and 8,615 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 16,393,404 coronavirus tests and 57,233 in the last 24 hours 959,491 patients have recovered in the country whereas 4,275 patients are in critical condition.
