Pakistan reports lowest coronavirus deaths in over two months

ISLAMABAD: The Coronavirus Pandemic is showing the downward trend as Pakistan has reported 2 deaths in the last 24 hours by the deadly virus while 462 new cases were also reported as lowest in last two months.

According to the latest figures given by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on its National Coronavirus Dashboard, 462 persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and two people have lost their lives to virus on Monday morning.

NCOC reported that Pakistan has conducted 31,201 coronavirus tests in the last 24 hours and the COVID-19 positivity ratio was recorded at 1.7 per cent.

The NCOC reported the 462 new cases that took the overall number of positive cases to 1,519,154, while two new deaths were reported taking the nationwide tally of fatalities to 30,309.

NCOC in its province-wise coronavirus update stated that Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to NCOC the overall fatalities across the country jumped to 30,309 out of which 13,538 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 8,091 in Sindh, 6,301 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1,021 in Islamabad, 790 in Azad Kashmir, 377 in Balochistan and 191 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to NCOC the overall positive cases so far surged to 1,519,154 out of which 572,042 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 503,844 in Punjab, 218,180 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 134,837 in Islamabad, 43,177 in Azad Kashmir, 35,438 in Balochistan and 11,636 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 26,929,016 coronavirus tests and 31,201 in the last 24 hours. 1,470,822 patients have recovered in the country whereas 577 patients are in critical condition.

So far, 128,074,138 people have received their first dose of coronavirus vaccine including 131,491 in last 24 hours. 101,881,176 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 501,747 received their second dose in last 24 hours.

The number of total administered doses has reached to 219,368,557 with 678,788 in the last 24 hours.
