RIYADH: Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a series of phone calls with international and regional counterparts on Sunday to discuss escalating tensions and diplomatic coordination.
As per the Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Prince Faisal to review the latest regional developments.
Both leaders stressed the urgent need for de-escalation to ensure peace and stability and agreed to remain in close contact.
The war, which began on February 28 between the United States, Israel and Iran, has plunged the Middle East into deep turmoil.
Iran has been carrying out attacks on Israeli and US targets across the region, while also targeting neighbouring countries that are not part of the conflict.
Islamabad hosted key talks On March 29, between the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Egypt to discuss the evolving situation in the Middle East.
The Pakistan Foreign Office earlier said the joint five-point peace initiative by Pakistan and China has received broad admiration from across the region and beyond, with even US leadership acknowledging diplomatic efforts.
