Pakistan will retaliate if India attacks, PM Khan warns

ISLAMABAD, 19 Feb (TNT News): Prime Minister Imran Khan made it clear on Tuesday that Pakistan will retaliate in case, if India starts a war in the wake of Pulwama Attack.

While giving a policy statement over the Pulwama attack in the occupied Kashmir that killed nearly 40 Indian army personnel on Feb 14, the premier responded sternly to India’s blame game against Pakistan. “I have been hearing and seeing on Indian media that their politicians are calling for revenge from Pakistan. If India attacks, then Pakistan will not think but retaliate,” he cautioned.

Explaining the delay behind issuance of a policy statement, the premier said, “I am responding to the Indian government now because the Saudi crown prince was visiting the country and we were busy with that.”

“India accused Pakistan without any evidence and without thinking how this [attack] would benefit us,” he added. “Would even a fool try to sabotage such an important visit as that of the Saudi crown prince?” PM Khan asked.

“Kashmiris are not afraid of death anymore. Should there not be a discussion in India on this?” he pointed out while asking, “which law in the world allows everyone to become a judge, jury?”

He stressed that the Kashmir issue is like the Afghan conflict, which will only be resolved through talks.

Recounting Pakistan’s 15-year old fight against terrorism, Khan asserted, “We are ready for talks with India on terrorism, we want stability.” adding that terrorism is a big issue and Pakistan wants to eliminate it from the region.
