ISLAMABAD: Another worst day witnessed by Pakistan after global coronavirus pandemic with 136 new deaths the highest ever in country were reported across the country in last 24 hours.
Country also reported 5,839 new infections country-wide in last 24 hours that took the toll to 154,760 infections in the country. After 136 new fatalities were reported in the country that took the death toll to 2,975.
Coronavirus pandemic has stretched its jaws over Pakistan and Pakistanis and it started claiming the tally and authorities at the helm of affairs are seeming totally failure to make efforts to stop the spread of virus.
The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), has confirmed 154.760 coronavirus infections in the country as well as it reported 2,975 deaths due to COVID-19. Punjab and Sindh have crossed the 50,000 mark of coronavirus infections and both are little short of 60,000 mark. Toll of infections in Punjab surged 58,239 and Sindh 57,868 infections, which rang alarm for the policy planners of the country.
According to province-wise break-up given on National Coronavirus Dashboard of the NCOC Punjab is at top of the list as worst-hit province by the coronavirus pandemic with 58,239 confirmed cases the highest number along with 1,149 fatalities, followed by Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 950,782 coronavirus tests and 28,117 in last 24 hours. 58,437 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition. Coronavirus epidemic patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.
According to latest figure displayed on National Coronavirus Dashboard of NCOC on June 17, Wednesday 09:20am, the province-wise break up after confirming the toll of 154,760 infections show that Punjab is at top of the infections list with 58,239 coronavirus cases followed by Sindh with.57,868 infections of the COVID-19 pandemic. The infections confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have crossed 19,107 confirmed infections, in Balochistan toll surged to 8,473, Gilgit-Baltistan reached to the toll of 1,164 infections, Islamabad Capital Territory reached to 9,242 and 703 infection reported in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
The figure given by Coronavirus Dashboard in its province-wise break up regarding the total 2,975 deaths reported in the country. Punjab is at top of the list of confirmed deaths with 1,149 as Sindh with 886 deaths at number two. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa death toll surged to 731 and the province has shown a little decline in fatalities. Balochistan 90, Gilgit-Baltistan 17, Islamabad Capital Territory 90 and AJK 13.
