ISLAMABAD: Pakistan witnessed deadliest day of coronavirus pandemic as 88 new deaths were reported in last 24 hours that took toll to 1,483. 3,039 new infections were also reported in last 24 hours taking the toll to 69,496.
The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), has confirmed that 69,496 coronavirus epidemic infections round the country along with 1,483 deaths.
Sindh remains worst hit province by the coronavirus pandemic as it has crossed the figure of 27,360 confirmed cases the highest number along with 465 fatalities, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Pakistan after crossing the milestone of half a million tests of the coronavirus epidemic has so far conducted 547,030 tests, Out of which 14,972 drring last 24 hours. 25,271 coronavirus patients have recovered in the country whereas many are in critical condition. Patients are under treatment at quarantine centers of 462 hospitals where 7,295 beds are available.
According to latest figure given on National Coronavirus Dashboard of NCOC on May 31, Sunday 9:30am, the province-wise break up after confirming the toll of 69,496 infections. Sindh jumped to 27,360 toll of coronavirus cases followed by Punjab with 25,056 infections of the COVID-19 pandemic. The infections confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have reached to 9,540, in Balochistan toll surged to 4,193, Gilgit-Baltistan reached to the toll of 678 infections, Islamabad Capital Territory reached to 2,418 and 251 infection reported in Azad Jammu Kashmir.
The figure given by Coronavirus Dashboard in its province-wise break up regarding the total 1,483 deaths reported in the country. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is on top of the fatalities list with 453 deaths while Punjab at number 2 with 475 deaths, Sindh stands with 465 fatalities, Balochistan 46, Gilgit-Baltisan 11, Islamabad Capital Territory 27 and AJK 6.
