AMRITSAR: After a five-year wait filled with COVID-related restrictions and visa hurdles, Pakistani girl Javeria Khanum has finally set foot in India to unite with her fiancé, Sameer Khan.
According to Indian media reports, Javeria arrived at Attari from Karachi, Pakistan, crossing the Wagah border, where she was warmly greeted by Sameer Khan’s family, they departed for Kolkata, where their wedding is slated for the first week of January.
In a statement to the media, Ms Khanum expressed her challenges, citing visa rejections amid the pandemic. Despite securing a visa for 45 days, she remains enthusiastic about their impending nuptials.
Sameer Khan shared a heartfelt story, recalling the moment he first glimpsed Javeria’s picture on his mother’s phone back in 2018. It was then that his mother expressed a keen desire for Sameer to marry her. Following his return from studying in Germany, their connection blossomed.
Subsequently, Javeria embarked on the journey to Kolkata alongside Sameer Khan and his family after their stay in Amritsar.
