PBM signs MoU with Abbottabad, Hazara universities to facilitate deserving students

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Bait ul Maal (PBM) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abbottabad University of Science and Technology and Hazara University Manshera to provide financial assistance to 50 deserving students of each university.

Ceremonies in this regard were held in each university where Managing Director PBM Aon Abbas Buppi, Provincial Minister for food Qalandar Khan Lodhi, Vice Chancellor Abbottabad University Dr Ifthikhar Ahmed and Vice Chancellor Hazara University Dr Muhammad Idrees signed the agreements.

Speaking on the occasion, MD Pakistan Baitul Mal Aon Abbas said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government believed in public welfare and Prime Minister Imran Khan was effectively moving ahead with his vision to achieve a bright future for the country.

 MD PBM said that the change could not be brought without education and current government was taking concrete measures to provide access to education for everyone.

He said that previous governments failed to deliver according to their promises and took cosmetic measures by seeking loans to improve socio-economic indicators on adhoc basis.

There was rampant corruption in each department, eating up the foundations of country like a termite but now the PTI-led government was fully committed and had resolved to attain heights of development by putting the country on path of progress, he added. In past, he said Pakistan Baitul Mal was used as tool for political purposes, but all steps were being taken on merit and in transparent manner in current situation. On the occasion, he also delivered a lecture on role of technology in the progress and development of society.
