The sources stated that the oil industry had sent its working regarding petroleum product pricing to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), which was scheduled to forward its final recommendations to the government by 15 April.

The Ministry of Finance was to issue the official price notification following consultations with the Prime Minister.

The sources further revealed that the government might exercise its authority to amend the proposed prices by adjusting taxes. In the previous month, the government had increased the petroleum levy rate and maintained petrol prices while announcing relief on electricity for the public.
