ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the launch of a new direct flight route from Lahore to Paris, set to begin on June 18, in a move aimed at expanding its European network and offering greater convenience to international travelers.
The national carrier confirmed that the new weekly flight will operate directly between Lahore and Paris, adding to its existing two weekly flights from Islamabad to Paris.
According to PIA management, the addition of the Lahore-Paris route is expected to facilitate smoother travel for passengers from Punjab and surrounding regions, reducing the need to connect through Islamabad or other international hubs.
“The new direct flight aims not only to serve the travel needs of the Pakistani and French diaspora but also to contribute to the airline’s efforts in increasing foreign exchange earnings,” the airline said in a statement.
The decision comes as part of PIA’s broader strategy to revitalize its international operations and tap into high-demand European destinations. Paris, home to a significant Pakistani community, has long been a key destination in the carrier’s Western routes.
The announcement has been welcomed by frequent flyers, travel agencies, and members of the Pakistani diaspora in France, who see the development as a step toward better connectivity and improved travel efficiency.
With the new route, PIA aims to position itself as a competitive player in the South Asia–Europe aviation corridor, even as it navigates efforts to restructure and modernize its services.
