ISLAMABAD: In an other step to facilitate tourists, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday directed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government to open all rest houses and other government residences for public use.
PM Khan gave these directives during his meeting with governor KPK Shah Farmaan, chief minister Mehmood Khan and provincial minister for tourism Atif Khan, said an official press release issued after the huddle.
The official premises in the province to be opened for public use include; Governor House Nathia Gali, Chief Minister House, Speaker House and IG House.
These facilities will be available to the general public for their use within next two weeks.
Earlier the government had announced to open guest houses of Pakistan post and some other departments for general public use.
Availability of affordable and standard accommodation is a big issue in northern parts of the country in peak tourist season where domestic tourists flock to beat the unbearable heat during summers and enjoy the snow in winters.
