PM Imran leaves for Saudi Arabia ahead of UN General Assembly

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday left for Saudi Arabia to discuss the various dimensions of the grave situation in Occupied Kashmir with Saudi leadership especially with Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will also perform Umrah during his stay in Saudi Arabia.

Prime Minister is accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Prime Minister Special Assistant on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shiekh and Adviser on Trade Abdul Razaq Dawood.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said Prime Minister will be visiting Saudi Arabia before his visit to New York to attend the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

He said Prime Minister’s visit to Saudi Arabia will further reinforce the close fraternal ties between the two countries and deepen bilateral cooperation in diverse fields.

Muhammad Faisal said the two sides will also discuss ways of further strengthening the economic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Saudi Arabia will further strengthen the bilateral ties.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader took to Twitter and maintained that the tour will prove to be another milestone in promoting cooperation in various sectors. The visit is a reflection of a trusted brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, she added.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said the Prime Minister will deliberate on the grave situation in India-occupied Kashmir (IoK) with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS).

She added that taking a brotherly Islamic country and a key OIC member into confidence is tantamount to making voice of the oppressed Kashmiris strong.

The SAPM commented that OIC openly expressed support for the Kashmiris. She said the Prime Minister will present the case of Kashmir to the UN General Assembly with the same force.

Mohammad bin Salman’s visit to Pakistan further improved historical bilateral relations and the people of Pakistan have love and respect for the Saudi leadership, she added. (INP)
