PM Imran, Turkish President Erdogan speak over phone

ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep  Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call with Prime Minister Imran Khan  today. The two leaders exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and developments in the region.

PM Imran Khan explained the Turkish President of current situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir and also discussed Afghan situation.

President Erdogan extended sympathies and condolences over the loss of precious lives in recent terrorist incident in Pakistan.

Both the leaders noted with satisfaction the strong bonds of brotherhood and close cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Erdogan reviewed progress made in a number of important areas of bilateral cooperation, particularly since Prime Minister’s visit to Turkey in January 2019.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction on Pak-Turk relations and assured each other of cooperation in various sectors.

They also noted that bilateral collaboration in diverse fields would be further strengthened during the next meeting of the Pakistan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) to be held in Islamabad later this year.

The two leaders also discussed the Pakistan-Turkey-Malaysia trilateral process and exchanged views on the next steps.(PR)
