BEIJING: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation visited the Terracotta Warriors Museum in the Xi’an region of China on Saturday.
During the visit, the prime minister and his delegation were briefed on the preservation and restoration of historical heritage and the promotion of tourism.
He toured several parts of the museum, appreciating the beauty of the ancient Chinese historical heritage and craftsmanship.
In his remarks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that great nations like China protect their historical heritage. He highlighted that the Chinese government’s efforts in the protection and restoration of historical heritage were worthy of emulation.
Shehbaz Sharif noted that China has achieved success in every sector through its hard work. He expressed his gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping for the gracious invitation to visit the museum.
The Prime Minister asserted that Pakistan possesses a rich historical and cultural heritage, and expressed his commitment to restoring the country’s historical landmarks and transforming them into tourist attractions.
Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ataullah Tarar, Dr. Musadik Malik, Sardar Awais Khan Leghari, and Rana Tanveer Hussain accompanied the prime minister during the visit.

On Friday, Chinese President Xi Jinping praised the longstanding friendship between China and Pakistan as ideal during a meeting with Prime Minister Sharif in Beijing. The meeting, deemed crucial, took place at the historic Great Hall of the People, where both leaders discussed various matters of mutual interest.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception during his visit, PM Sharif highlighted the significance of Pakistan’s relationship with China. President Xi echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that the strategic ties between the two countries continue to strengthen over time.
The leaders agreed on enhancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and ensuring the timely completion of major development projects. They also delved into regional and international affairs, including discussions on Afghanistan, Palestine, and the Kashmir issue.
