Poetry by Habiba Kiani

Love

I abhorred the sparkling rays of sunshine

Advertisment

In this day and age, it became the mirage of beloved

I felt melancholic of liquid sunshine

Nowadays I pray of conciliation in cloud bursts with beloved

Hostel

A place of necromancy, place of reveries

Assiduous days, phantasmagorical nights

Occults books, food of spell-bounding eateries

Chuckle some roomies, momentous sight

Father

You are the buoyant aurora to my murk despair dreams

The vibrant drizzle to the appetencies of my life

The velvety breeze of our triumph of dreams

Cheerfulness to our prismatic life

Mother

A Rose of Sharon of our home, Wings to our ambitions

Elegance and beauty of our abode, peace to our aching heart

Beacon of light, hope to our tribulations

Life of silk brocade, under the veil of loving heart

Siblings

Akin by cruor, pertinent by adoration

Distinct by perception, altered by individuality

Discrete living style, disparate approach to appreciation

Fetter by the emotions, equated through integrity

Cousins

Sweet colorful memories of childhood,

Thousands of echoes, of the past, left eyes in tears

In the reminiscence of playing hopscotch, ludo and carom of deodar wood

Peregrinating, sharing experiences, not holding back our fears

Freedom

Blood-spattered pilgrimage of ideologies

From the tophet of travail, to the Paradise of harmony

From the journey of dependency to the implementation of independent ideologies

From the cage of restrictions to the sky of liberating symphony
