ISLAMABAD: Police arrested Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) Mohsin Dawar, Ali Wazir Khan and veteran politician Afrasiab Khattak Tuesday outside the National Press Club, a day after Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) chief Manzoor Pashteen was taken into custody.
The two MNAs from Waziristan and Khattak were taken into custody outside the National Press Club and shifted to the Kohsar Police Station. Khattak and the two PTM lawmakers were protesting against Pashteen’s arrest.
Pashteen was arrested from the Tahkal area of Peshawar during the early hours of Monday morning.
According to the FIR filed against the PTM chief, he is accused of using threatening and derogatory language against the state during a gathering in DI Khan on Jan 18.
He was presented before the court of Magistrate Naveed Ullah Gigiani, who handed him over to law enforcement authorities on a 14-day judicial remand on Monday.
