Poverty, the state of one who lacks a usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material possessions. Poverty is said to exist when people lack the means to satisfy their basic needs. In this context, the identification of poor people first requires a determination of what constitutes basic needs.
Due of increase in population and mean resources, given resources are becoming squeezed which ultimately lead to poverty. When population increases they need things for their survival which should equally increase in order to full fill need and requirement of people.
Agricultural is main source of the developing countries like Pakistan which depends on agriculture. But unfortunately, due to lack in technology, industrial backwardness and things required for getting productivity and efficiency are very miserable.
If we take example of Pakistan where mostly people depend upon and their main source of earning is agriculture, it lacks machinery, fertilizer, etc and the farmers cannot get efficient results and productivity which partially is a reason for the poverty.
Poor becomes poorer and rich are getting much more. The main reason is unequal distribution of wealth which directly leads to poverty and the things become worst for the poor. If a person has fixed income and he is the only source of earning for his family, now due to increase in utilities bill, this is quite impossible for him to either pay utilities bills or arrange eatables for his family.
The government needs to take some bold steps to create employment opportunities for young and unemployed people who are fresh graduates and have loads of potential to contribute in the progress and development of this country.
The government also needs to provide financing to fresh graduates and encourage entrepreneurship to create employment opportunities. Its focus should be on increasing exports which will increase our foreign reserves and be a boost for local producers and encourage them to improve their quality and increase production.
It should start interest-free loan schemes for students to encourage entrepreneurial activities which will create employment opportunities for young graduates. The government should invest in education of children in all areas of Pakistan, so that everyone has basic education. This will help them earn bread and butter for their families.
Poverty can also be reduced by encouraging agricultural sector as it is the backbone of our country. The government should focus on providing latest technology to farmers to increase their production and this will help them bring more foreign reserves in our country and create more employment opportunities.
