BEIJING: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on his arrival was accorded warm welcome when he reached the Chinese Great Hall of the People on Friday.
His Chinese counterpart Li Qiang welcomed Premier Shehbaz Sharif and the prime minister was presented a guard of honor by a contingent of the People’s Liberation Army of China.
On this occasion, national anthems of both the countries were played.
Prime Minister Shehbaz introduced Army Chief General Asim Munir, federal ministers Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal and Atta Tarar to Premier Li.
Later, he will hold meeting with President Xi.
He will also meet with National People’s Congress Standing Committee Chairman Zahao Liji.
The prime minister will attend the signing ceremony of MoUs between China and Pakistan on cooperation in various fields.
It may be recalled that Premier Shehbaz is on an official visit to China from June 4 to 8 at the invitation of President Xi.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that wants to benefit from China’s development model.
