LAHORE :Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that comprehensive plan has been chalked out to revive cottage industry and promote SMEs.
He said, “Projects worth billions of rupees to promote SMEs have been approved. Employment opportunities will be generated after implementing such schemes.
Economic reforms revolutionary programme of PTI government will bring far reaching results and through this programme lives of thousands of people living below poverty line will be changed.”
Taking to a delegation of business persons related to SMEs Sector in his Lahore camp office on Wednesday, Mian Aslam Iqbal SMEs are a big source to alleviate poverty and unemployment problems. PTI government has framed special plan for bringing progress in this sector.
He said that more than 3000/ SMEs will be developed with an amount of Rs. 6 billion in next 5 years. Under this scheme financial and technical assistance will be provided to those initiating new business and this scheme will ultimately be beneficial to bring industrial progress and increase national exports.
Similarly, through loan mark up support programme 8000 SMEs will be provided financial assistance worth Rs. 3 billion and will be assisted to stand on their feet.
The Provincial Minister said that Credit Guarantee Scheme is another revolutionary scheme of PTI government for which Rs. 2.5 billion have been allocated. Through this scheme 6000/ SMEs will be provided assistance and guarantee will also be provided for obtaining loans through different banks.
He further said that new industrial zones and SEZs will also be built across the province which will start a new era of industrial progress.
