ISLAMABAD: Power Authority Board has formally approved the promotion of 21 bureaucrats belonging to different services groups of the federal bureaucracy from BPS 21 to Grade 22. The Grade 22 consists of officers belonging to the Police Group, Administrative Service, Foreign Service and other service groups.
A meeting of the Power Authority Board chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan was held at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat. The meeting approved the promotion of 21 officers belonging to different service groups to Grade 22.
Two officers of Police Service, ten of Administrative Service, four of Foreign Service, 2 of Inland Revenue Service, two of Customs Service and one officer of Audit and Accounts Service have been promoted to Grade 22.
According to informed sources, senior officer of Police Service Grade 21 and DG FIA Wajid Zia has been promoted to Grade 22, while Administrative Service Commissioner Faisalabad Ishrat Ali, Additional Secretary Ministry of Economic Affairs Zulfiqar Haider, Chief Secretary K. PK Kazim Niaz, Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir Shehzad Bangash, Iftikhar Shalawani, Farhan Aziz Khawaja are also among those who have been promoted in Grade 22, while Asad Majeed, Zaheer Janjua, Safdar Hayat and Khalid Hussain Memon of Foreign Service have been included to promoted in Grade 22. According to sources, Ahmed Mujtaba Memon and Abdul Rashid Sheikh of the Customs Service are among those promoted in Grade 22.
Sources said that no officer of the Secretariat Group has been promoted to Grade 22 due to lack of seats in the Secretariat Group. The final approval of the posting plan is likely to be given by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday after which the Establishment Division will issue formal notification of promotions and new appointments in the next grade of officers promoted in Grade 22.
