GILGIT: The role of local conservation committees and institutions is very imperative for protection and conservation of the natural beauty and eco-system of Gilgit Baltistan, said Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khalid Khurshid.
Addressing trophy hunting checks distribution ceremony in Gilgit on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said local community has proved its responsibility for the protection of wildlife.
Khalid Khurshid said that protection and restoration of ecosystem is essential for promotion of tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan.
He said a special chapter on climate change is being included in the basic curriculum to create awareness among children about climate change and the
protection of the ecosystem.
The Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan said that the government is paying special attention to health and education sectors and service delivery.
