PTI govt fulfilling pre-poll promises made with people: Buzdar

LAHORE : Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is fulfilling its promises made with the people adding that people of Mianwali have always loved Prime Minister Imran Khan and we are indebted to their love. The journey of public service has started under the Prime Minister.

He said that Mianwali was willingly kept backward in the past by considering it an area of the opposition but we will bring the backward areas at par with the developed localities, he said. All the deprivations of the backward areas will be removed and Mianwali will be developed an exemplary city.

The elements opposing national development went to Islamabad recently with different plans and their aim was to stop the journey of national development but the people foiled their every plan. These people should listen that no A, B or C plan will be succeeded in Pakistan but only the plan of public development will succeed in Pakistan and no one can stop this plan of public service under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. No one will be allowed to hinder the journey of development, he added.

Addressing the ceremony held with regard to laying of the foundation stone of eight mega projects worth Rs19 billion in Mianwali on Friday. While delivering his speech in the Saraiki language, the chief minister said that foundation stone of different projects amounting to billions of rupees has been laid today for the people of Mianwali.

The mother-and-child hospital and nursing college will be set up in Mianwali and five more mother-and-child hospitals will be constructed in five big cities of the province with an amount of Rs20 billion. The mother-and-child hospitals and nursing colleges will be set up in Layyah, Attock, Rajanpur and Muzaffargarh and every hospital will consist of 200-beds. Rs5.57 billion is being spent on four health projects in Mianwali, he added. He said that repair and maintenance of DHQ Hospital Mianwali, THQ Hospital Piplan and Kalabagh hospital.

Similarly, revamping of 15 BHUs and RHCs is in progress. Foundation stone of the University of Mianwali has been laid today and VC has been appointed as well. Work on three projects worth Rs62 crore is in progress for Mianwali in the higher education sector. He said that water supply and other facilities are being provided to degree college Wan Bachran and cadet college Essa Khel. Meanwhile, Rs3.10 billion have been earmarked for 1234 schools of district Mianwali and necessary facilities will be provided.

On the other side, he said that roads will be constructed in Mianwali with an amount of Rs11 billion. The foundation stone of Mianwali-Sargodha road has been laid today and the first phase of this 30-kilometre long road will be completed with an amount of Rs5 billion and Rs13.5 billion will be spent on the second phase.

Usman Buzdar said that construction of 39-kilometer long roads will be completed in Mianwali by December under Naya Pakistan Manzalain Assan programme and 43-kilometre long roads will be constructed in the second phase which will start from January next year. He said that 122 projects of public health engineering will be completed with an amount of Rs1.75 billion and the foundation stone of sewerage schemes in Kamar Mishani, Dawood Khel and Essa Khel along with the restoration of 62 water supply schemes in Mianwali have been laid today. Water supply scheme for Essa Khel tehsil and 54 projects of carpeted streets and sewerage in Mianwali district are being started as well.

He informed that construction, repair and maintenance project of Kas Umer Khan Canal System will be completed with an amount of Rs12 billion. Jinnah Barrage Remodeling Project has been completed and feasibility study of hill-torrents is being done for the construction of small dams in Mianwali. Meanwhile, the foundation stone of water sports and tourism club projects has been laid as well and 81 projects have been earmarked for district Mianwali in ADP costing Rs39.20 billion.

The chief minister said that youth will be empowered through Kamyab Naujawan Programme costing Rs9 billion and Punjab government will provide soft loans to the needy youth to start their businesses. The scope of model bazaars is being extended to the level of tehsil and Kissan platforms have been made available in 32 model bazaars to help the farmers to sell their produce. Only three special economic zones were set up in Punjab before the advent of PTI government but incumbent government has got an approval of starting ten special economic zones in one year time. The federal government has given approval to six special economic zones while work is in progress with regard to the establishment of four special economic zones.

Usman Buzdar said that Sehat Insaf Cards have been distributed in 30 districts and distribution process in other districts will be completed very soon to provide quality healthcare facilities to more than 3.3 crore needy people in the province. He said that 25000 recruitments including ten thousand doctors’ appointments have been made in the health sector in a short span of time and scope of rescue 1122 is being expanded to tehsil level.(Additional Input From INP)
