LAHORE: Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) was discharged from the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and shifted back to Kot Lakhpat Jail under tight police security after receiving treatment for chest pain.
Former Foreign Minister was admitted to the PIC on May 17, after he complained of severe chest discomfort while in jail. He remained under medical supervision at the hospital for eight days, undergoing various tests and treatment.
According to sources, a heavy contingent of police escorted the former foreign minister back to jail following his discharge.
While returning to Kot Lakhpat Jail, Qureshi briefly spoke to journalists in an informal interaction, expressing dissatisfaction over the hospital’s handling of his health records.
“I still have to undergo a CT scan and angiography,” Qureshi said. “Doctors are telling me that my current health condition does not allow travel, but the hospital administration is not even showing me my medical file.”
Qureshi also claimed that despite his repeated requests, the medical staff at PIC refused to provide access to his complete test reports.
