KARACHI: The Election Tribunal on Friday maintained the Returning Officer’s (RO) decision, dismissing Alamgir Khan’s appeal over rejected nomination papers.
The appeals, centered around the rejection of PTI candidate Alamgir Khan’s nomination papers for NA-236, and Masroor Syal’s candidacy for NA-230 and NA-231, were fervently debated in the Election Tribunal. However, the Tribunal ultimately sided with the RO, upholding the rejections.
Alamgir Khan’s appeal was based on the grounds of tax default, but the Election Tribunal affirmed the RO’s stance, underscoring the importance of compliance with financial obligations.
Similarly, the Tribunal also dismissed the appeals of Masroor Syal for Constituencies NA-230 and NA-231, endorsing the decisions of the respective Returning Officers. Masroor Syal’s nomination papers faced rejection due to a default with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
