LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs (HR&MA) has said that nations practicing their customs and levies especially mother tongues are far more progressive and attainable towards the enlightenment of society, and the Punjabi language is extremely effective and so far most sustainable due to its rich literature.
The provincial minister said India had been fully exposed in the comity of nations because of brutalities its security forces were unleashing in the Indian occupied Kashmir. He said that Pakistan and India are nuclear powers and cannot afford to wage a war but India deliberately crating a war-like situation in the region.
He stated this while addressing the Punjabi Conference on Kashmir organized by the LCWU in auditorium of Punjabi department on Tuesday. Chairperson Punjabi Department, LCWU Dr. Mujahida Butt said in her address that Punjabi is the mother tongue of the biggest province of Pakistan. It is not only a medium of communication but is a source of our heritage, religious, cultural and historical assets of the region.
Ijaz Alam Augustine said during his address that 64% of Pakistan’s population consists of youth, which is a positive omen for future prosperity of the country. “It is, however, also a challenge for the government.
He said that fulfillment of our youth’s aspirations is responsibility of the government and the most useful thing that could be done was to create meaningful opportunities in education, employment and engagement that could empower our young to unleash their potential. Other speakers also addressed to the ceremony and condemned the continued brutality in occupied Kashmir by the Indian forces.
A resolution was also passed by the students in the favor of Kashmir and at the end of the ceremony a memorial shield presented to the Minister Ijaz Alam by the administration of LCWU. Large number of students and professors of LCWU were present in the ceremony.(Additional Input From INP)
