Ramazan moon sighted in Pakistan, Holy month begins from tomorrow Sunday

PESHAWAR: Ramazan-ul-Mubarak moon has been sighted and tomorrow (April 3, 2002) will be first of the Holy month of Ramazan.

The announcement was made by Chairman Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad from Peshawar where he was chairing the meeting to sight the moon. The zonal committees of the central body met in Lahore, Quetta, Karachi and Islamabad

The committee’s meeting was held with chairman Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad in chair. The Islamabad and Lahore zonal Ruet-i-Hilal Committees had reported to the central body that they have sighted the moon in their respective cities.

The moon was expected to be sighted as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had said that the chances of sighting the moon was “highly likely”.

The meteorological, in a statement, had shared that the weather would remain clear and the sunset in Karachi will be at 6:49pm while the moon will be visible at 7:45pm.
