Former Chairman Senate, Mian Raza Rabbani has supported the Resolution of the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Assembly, for granting provisional status.
In a statement, he said the objective can be achieved without prejudice to the Kashmir issue.
“Under the Australian and Canadian constitutional experiences, territories with less status than Provinces exist. The granting of observer or called by any other name, status to GB will not be alien to the Constitution, 1973,” he added.
He also suggested that The Committee of the Whole, Senate of Pakistan, can invite all stakeholders to find a way forward.
