Media reports claim another reshuffle in the federal cabinet is on the cards with some new faces likely to be inducted in the already bloated cabinet whereas portfolios of some incumbent ministers will be changed.
Mainstream media outlets claimed that Asad Umar, who was once leading Prime Minister Imran Khan’s financial team, is all set to make a comeback in the Cabinet.
Similarly, speculations are also making rounds that Khan’s undeclared legal advisor Babar Awan is also eying key slot in the Cabinet.
It is also being said that portfolios of some of the Cabinet members like Shafqat Mahmood, Fawad Chaudhry and Zubeida Jalal might to be reshuffled.
Most independent political observers believe that mere change of faces or reallocation of the portfolios won’t work for the beleaguered government.
A big chunk of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s cabinet has been associated with former military ruler Pervez Musharraf, Asif Ali Zardari or Nawaz Sharif in the past. The un-elected persons in Khan’s cabinet dominate the most, some them are extremely influential. It is high time for Imran Khan to make abundantly clear to his team to deliver.
His government is so far miserably failed to control declining economic indicators, skyrocketing inflation and poor governance system. The shocking number of deaths due to dengue has exposed poor state of affairs in the health sector.
Prime Minister Imran Khan would have to draw a plan of action in black and white to his team members with clear deadlines.
He should realize that poor governance and checked inflation would help the opposition political parties to take masses to streets. People are desperately looking for short-term measures so they get some respite.

There has been reshuffle in the cabinet before. Prime Minister Khan included many new and shown door to few ministers in those reshuffles.
Mere promises of a solace in future would not assuage the sufferings of the common man.
It is right time to bring reforms in the system, if PTI has done any tangible work as it promised before and during the elections.
Initial few months after taking over the government, is the time when a regime can take tough decisions. PTI is well into its second year of government now. It has not introduced any road map so far, expect the promises. It is time to act before it gets very late.
